Citizens National Bank (CNB) is marking 95 years of service to Northern Michigan with a year-long celebration highlighting its history, community impact, and continued commitment to local banking.

Founded on January 24, 1931, CNB was created to provide financial stability and trusted personal service during a challenging time for the region. Nearly a century later, those same principles continue to guide the bank as it adapts to each generation’s unique banking needs.

“Reaching 95 years is a rare milestone,” said Matthew Keene, President and CEO of CNB. “It reflects the trust our community has placed in us and the dedication of the people who serve our customers every day.”

CNB’s focus extends beyond banking services to meaningful community involvement. In the past year, employees volunteered 1,335 hours with 58 local organizations, supporting causes that strengthen Northern Michigan communities.

As part of its anniversary, CNB will celebrate throughout the year by sharing stories that highlight its people, history, and values in branches and across social media. Guided by its tagline, “My Bank For My Generation,” the effort reflects the bank’s longstanding belief that while generations change, strong banking principles – and local relationships – endure.

Celebrate with CNB by following the bank’s Facebook page @cnbismybank and Instagram page @citizensnationalbank, and stay tuned for updates throughout the year.
