Primary Function: This executive role is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of all front-line lending and cash management operations with accountability for innovation, growth, and profitability while upholding bank’s commitment to an exceptional client experience.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the bank's lending, cash management, and business operations strategies in alignment with the bank’s mission, values and financial objectives.
- Business Development: Drive growth of lending and cash management portfolios by enhancing client relationships, identifying market opportunities, and building strategic partnerships.
- Portfolio Oversight: Manage overall loan portfolios, including setting and monitoring interest rate structures, ensuring profitability, credit quality, and compliance with industry regulations and internal policies and guidelines.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of lending and cash management professionals. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and ongoing professional development. Conduct at least annually, teammate reviews showing progress towards or continued support of the aforementioned objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other senior executives, including those in credit, operations, retail banking, marketing, and finance, to align department activities to be delivered the most efficient way possible to meet the broader bank objectives.
- Risk Management: In collaboration with bank’s Chief Credit Officer and/or Credit Manager, develop and maintain loan policy, guidelines, and procedures. Ensure clear communication and consistent adherence by the lending staff.
- Lending Authority: Approve loans within established lending authority granted through loan policy. Ensure lenders and cash managers’ activities comply with bank loan policy and guidelines. Approve loan underwriting and policy exceptions as appropriate.
- Collections and Past Due Loans: Support the Chief Credit Officer in managing collection activities, including repossession, foreclosure, acquisition, and disposition of properties. Recommend disposition strategies, book values, write downs, charge-offs, in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Committees Participations: Actively participate in committees including but not limited to; Executive Management Committee (EMC), Asset Liability Committee (ALCO), Special Assets Committee (SAC), Loan Approval Committee (LAC), Current Expected Credit Loss Team (CECL), Security Team.
- Financial Reporting: Report regularly to the board of directors and senior leadership on lending and cash management performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.
- Budgeting: Prepare and manage annual loan and cash management department’s budgets, including growth targets which align with the bank’s financial objectives.
- Compliance: Comply with all laws, regulations, bank policies and procedures, including Citizens National Bank’s Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Policy and procedures, and its Customer Identification Program.
- Community Representation: Act as a visible leader in the community, representing the bank at industry and civic events to continue strengthening the bank’s reputation and local presence.
- Personal Conduct: Maintain regular consistent attendance, personal appearance, punctuality, and adherence to applicable health and safety procedures found in the bank’s employee handbook.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong financial analytical and underwriting skills.
- Strong knowledge of lending policies & procedures, including state and federal regulations.
- Ability to lead changes, inspire teams, and build high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in loan origination software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent problem solving, loan origination, and work out skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, real estate or related fields.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in commercial, mortgage, and consumer lending activities, including 5+ years in a senior management or executive capacity.
