Office Location: Cheboygan Main branch, 303 N. Main St., Cheboygan
Primary Function:
Provide basic to broad level of customer support for the department. Support the Business Banker(s) with the loan application process, including the collection of data, the closing, and the post-closing processes. As appropriate, assist the residential banking department.
This role has the potential to be promoted to Business Banker.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist department with process improvements and enhancements for the loan department,
as appropriate. - Assist in delivering the CNB brand by troubleshooting, and providing consistent, timely
responses whenever customer needs assistance. - Provide administrative assistance to the Lender(s) and staff as needed.
- Input and upload documents into Sageworks, the loan operating system (LOS).
- Follow up with the various borrower’s insurance companies for insurance certificates,
including ensuring that the proper lien language is included in the policies. - Pre-closing process - review closing documents prior to providing a copy to the loan
officer(s) for final review. - Be the first contact (internal and external calls/emails) for all loan questions, including
but not limited to escrows, automatic debit forms, expired insurance, past dues, and paid
note discharges - Assist loan officer(s) with clearing loan exceptions.
- Learn basic knowledge of business banking, including underwriting, loan structuring,
marketing, and portfolio management. - Comply with all laws, regulations, bank policies and procedures, including specifically
Citizens National Bank’s Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Policy and procedures, and its Customer Identification Program. - Maintain regular consistent attendance, personal appearance, punctuality, and adherence to applicable health and safety procedures.
- Establish and maintain efficient working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the customers.

Skills and Abilities Required:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work

- Ability to use various Microsoft Office programs (excel, word), PC Lender (residential banking platform), NuPoint (CSI), and Sageworks (consumer loan platform).
- Ability to work as a team in all aspects of the position.

- Ability to solve problems, provide solutions, proactively.
- Customer focused, both internal and external
- Travel to branch offices using personal vehicle.
- Interest in a future business banking lending position.
- The bank will train qualified candidates
- Position is not eligible for remote work
Education and Experience Required:
- Associate's degree required or equivalent years of experience
- Three years job experience with depository and/or lending products
- Knowledge of banking and/or retail banking operations.
